St. Joseph by-the-Sea High School is accredited by the New York State Board of Regents and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. Our program of studies follows not only the requirements of the state and Archdiocese of New York, but also the special requirements set by the Curriculum Committee of St. Joseph by-the-Sea. The courses of instruction follow the prescribed syllabi of the State of New York and the curriculum outlines prepared by the different academic disciplines at St. Joseph by-the-Sea.
Our courses of study are college preparatory. St. Joseph by-the-Sea offers a Scholars' Program and a College Preparatory Program to meet the needs and abilities of the individual student.
The Scholars' Program is an honors program offered to those students who qualify academically. Admission into this program is based on the students' TACHS scores. Students who do not qualify for the Scholars Program as freshmen can earn placement in honors level courses based on teacher recommendation, sufficient grades, and availability of the courses.
St. Joseph by-the-Sea is not staffed to provide for IEP students with special needs.
